The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC), the body responsible for granting new casino operating licenses, announced on Thursday that it is starting consultations for the approval of a casino permit at Elliniko - Attica's biggest development project - opening the way for the tender to find an investor for the project.

The European Commission has sent a letter to the government asking it not to implement a new regulation on the operation of video lottery terminals (VLTs), which OPAP has undertaken.

Acting on a proposal by Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis, the Hellenic Gaming Commission on Tuesday called for a ban on TV phone-in quizzes “in order to protect the public and in particular minors and vulnerable social groups.”
