A man was shot dead by unknown assailants in the northern suburb of Vrilissia on Wednesday afternoon, which authorities have described as the latest victim in a turf war for "supremacy at night" between rival gangs.

The victim was reportedly sprayed with bullets by occupants of a car while walking near his house in shortly after 3.30 p.m. 

Police in Larissa, central Greece, are seeking the identity of a 6-year-old girl found during a raid on the home of two suspects, a man aged 42 and a woman, 41.

Police hailed the largest gang "takedown" in New York history April 27 after a major operation snared 120 people from two rival street gangs that brought murder to the city and the United States.
 

Dozens of Canadian Hells Angels bikers visited Greece, emblazoned vests and all, for an international biker parade and convention. At least three of them, however, did not return, as they were arrested after a near-fatal beating of a local man.

Seven people were arrested on Saturday in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, on charges of illegal drug possession.

They were charged after they were found carrying unspecified amounts of illegal psychotropic drugs.

Meanwhile, Thessaloniki authorities arrested three people in connection with pending convictions and arrest warrants.

One person was killed and four others were injured on Aug. 23 in a gunfight between police and members of a crime organization that sells the synthetic drug “bonzai” in Ankara.
