Gas Interconnector Greece–Bulgaria

Kovacevic: Gas interconnectors strengthen Serbia's position as transit country

BAKU - State Secretary at Serbia's Ministry of Mining and Energy Veljko Kovacevic said on Friday in Baku that, by completing a natural gas interconnector with Bulgaria, Serbia had attained the possibility to connect to various gas supply sources, which he noted could improve its energy security and bolster its position as a gas transit country.

Construction Works on the Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector have been Completed

Resigned Prime Minister Kiril Petkov will be on a one-day visit to Greece, where, at the invitation of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, he will participate in the official ceremony marking the completion of the construction of the Greece-Bulgaria Intersystem Gas Connection (IGB).

From Today: Bulgaria to begin Receiving Full Quantities of Gas under the Contract with Azerbaijan

Starting today, Bulgaria will start receiving the entire quantities of natural gas under the contract with Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Energy informed BNR. However, this will not happen through the Bulgarian-Greek gas connection, but at the temporary delivery point Nea Mesimvria. The interconnector is expected to be ready in the fall, according to the ministry's response.

The Greece-Bulgaria Interconnection started Test Gas Supplies

The Greece-Bulgaria gas interconnection (IGB) has started test gas supplies, the project company ICGB AD told Trend news agency.

"We have started test deliveries with real quantities of natural gas, as planned. However, this is not the beginning of commercial exploitation," the ICGB said.

Greece – Bulgaria NG pipeline undergoes last test

The small, in length, but strategically important IGB pipeline, which connects the Bulgarian system with the Greek natural gas transmission system and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), will start commercial operation, next month, in July. Today (17 June) the pipeline will undergo final testing  with the introduction of the last quantities of 1.5 million cubic meters of gas.
