Israeli Troop Fatalities in Conflict with Hamas Nearing 600

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have reported that 571 soldiers have lost their lives in clashes with Palestinian Hamas militants since hostilities escalated in October of last year.

The IDF press service disclosed that the most recent casualty, a 20-year-old soldier, was killed yesterday in fighting in Khan Yunis, with eight others sustaining injuries in the same area.

Strikes hit a location used by Hamas' armed wing, Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades and a farm, according to an Anadolu Agency reporter, citing witnesses.

Palestinian authorities did not comment about if the strikes caused any casualties.

Fire balloons with the message: Time is running out, followed by the exchange of fire

According to the sources of the radio station, the positions of the groups connected with the Palestinian resistance units near the cities of Khan Yunis and Gaza were shot at, and there is still no information about the victims or damage, TASS reported.
Palestinian groups returned fire on Israeli planes, Sawt al-Aqsa added.

Israel Carries Out Strikes on Gaza after Fire Balloons Hit Its Territory

Israel says it has carried out air strikes against Hamas militant targets in Gaza, in retaliation for incendiary balloons launched from the territory.

Explosions were heard in Gaza City in the early hours of Wednesday.

Several balloons were sent from Gaza into Israel earlier on Tuesday causing multiple fires, according to the Israeli fire service.

Death toll rises to 144 from Israeli attacks on Gaza

A family of 10 were killed early on May 15 in an Israeli air strike on the western Gaza Strip, medics in the Palestinian enclave said.

Eight children and two women, all belonging to the Abu Hatab family, were killed in the three-storey building in Shati refugee camp that collapsed following an Israeli strike, medical sources said.

Turkish hospital ray of hope in virus-hit Gaza

A Turkish hospital in Gaza is supporting health authorities of the blockaded strip in stemming the coronavirus amid a surge in infections.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Marwan al-Hams, director of the Palestine-Turkey Friendship Hospital, said the hospital has admitted and treated some 3,500 coronavirus patients since April 2020.

Turkey helping Palestinians in need of prosthetic eyes

Turkey is helping Palestinians in Gaza who need eye removal surgeries and ocular prostheses due to severe injuries suffered in Israeli attacks. 

Badly damaged eyes have to be surgically removed and replaced with prosthetic ones, and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) is financing the procedure for 10 Palestinians, the agency said in a statement.
