In a statement released by the White House on Wednesday, US President Joe Biden expressed profound dismay over the deaths of seven humanitarian workers from World Central Kitchen (WCK) in Gaza, citing Israel's insufficient measures to safeguard aid workers in the region.

World Central Kitchen, the food charity founded by celebrity chef José Andrés, called a halt to its work in the Gaza Strip after an Israeli strike killed seven of its workers, mostly foreigners.

Türkiye has reiterated its call for a ceasefire in Gaza in line with the latest U.N. Security Council resolution, criticizing Israel for violating human conscience and law by continuing its barbaric acts against the Palestinians.

A recent Israeli strike in Gaza resulted in the deaths of four foreign aid workers and their Palestinian driver. According to the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry in Gaza, the victims, hailing from Britain, Australia, Poland, and an unidentified nationality, were targeted while traveling in a vehicle belonging to the American organization World Central Kitchen (WCK).

A food aid organisation said an Israeli strike killed several of its workers in the besieged Gaza Strip on Monday, with the health ministry in the Hamas-run territory reporting that four of them were foreigners.

"Today, World Central Kitchen lost several of its sisters and brothers in an Israeli army strike in Gaza," said the NGO's founder, chef Jose Andres.

Eyewitnesses report that the Israeli army is pulling back from Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, as confirmed by an AFP journalist. Tanks are seen withdrawing from the premises, with the IDF allegedly firing shells to cover their exit before heading southwest of Gaza City.

Thr Israeli army announced the death of yet another soldier in the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, bringing the somber tally to 600 lives lost since October 7, 2023. The 20-year-old fighter's sacrifice underscores the relentless toll exacted by the protracted hostilities in the region, as reported by AFP.

The U.N.'s human rights chief has told the BBC that Israel is using starvation as a weapon in the war-torn Gaza by blocking aid deliveries, citing that if this intention is proven, it could be considered a war crime.

The southern Gaza Strip came under intense Israeli bombardment overnight, despite international pressure for an immediate ceasefire in the Palestinian territory where famine is looming.

Tensions between the United States and Israel have escalated following the UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
