A local man has killed a lawyer and a police officer before committing suicide in the northwestern province of Bursa, Doğan News Agency has reported.

The killings occurred on the evening of July 4 in Bursa's Gemlik district.

Some 65 people were killed and 489 were injured across Turkey during three-daily Eid al-Fitr holiday, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on June 27.

Selami Atar, one of the last remaining members of a group who migrated from Greece to Turkey as part of the population exchange after World War I and the Turkish War of Independence, has died at the age of 97. He was buried with an olive branch and soil from his hometown Preveza in northwestern Greece.

At least one person has been killed and another wounded in a blast at a nitrogen factory near the western Turkish province of Bursa, according to rescue officials.

The explosion occurred in a factory in the town of Gemlik early July 19. The reason of the explosion remains unknown.
