F-35s to Greece, no jets for Turkey: Why the White House is half right on East Med arms sales
Last week news dropped that the Biden administration reportedly will ask Congress to approve a $20 billion sale of F-16s to Turkey, coupled with a separate sale of F-35 fighters to Greece.
The sale of F-16s was also the focus of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu's meeting with Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington on Wednesday.

Washington has been engaged in a difficult balancing act in recent weeks on multiple levels with regard to Greece and Turkey. The election periods in both countries, Ankara's behavior and the requests for F-16 and F-35 fighter jets that are running almost in parallel, have brought the American diplomacy, which is trying not to displease anyone, to its limits.
