On May 19 we commemorate the genocide of the Greeks of Pontus, a chapter of a broader genocide perpetrated by the Turkish state in the early 20th century against its Christian inhabitants that resulted in the deaths of more than 2.5 million Armenians, Greeks, and Assyrians.

Representatives of some 70 countries gathered in Ljubljana on 15 May for a two-week conference in a bid to finalise what is considered to be the first key international treaty on prosecution of atrocities since the 1998 Rome Statute.

The Bosnian state court has rejected a prosecution appeal confirmed a verdict acquitting Miodrag Josipovic, Branimir Tesic, Dragomir Vasic, Danilo Zoljic and Radomir Pantic of participation in the partial extermination of Bosniaks from Srebrenica in July 1995, the men's lawyers told BIRN.

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, attending the reopening of the Museum of Barbarism after restoration works, has commemorated Turkish Cypriots who were subjected to cold-blooded atrocities in the 1963 "Bloody Christmas."

Women in Black said that an unknown man posing as a postal worker entered the building where the peace group's office is located in Belgrade on Tuesday and poured red paint on the entrance door and on the staircase.
