Love Is Folly Film Vestival in Bulgaria's Varna to Close Saturday

Love Is Folly, one of Bulgaria's first international film festivals, is coming to its end Saturday evening in the Black Sea city of Varna.

Mr Morgan's Last Love, a 2013 co-production of Germany, Belgium, the US and France, is the last film to be seen at 19:00 EEST at the Festival and Congress Center where the event has taken place since it started in 1993.

Bulgaria is vulnerable to potential terrorist attacks, experts argued Friday.

Albena Drobachka, who manages a project n prevention of natural and social disasters, said at an international conference more needs to done by Bulgarian authorities to promote civic education and appropriate behavior immediately after a terror act has been committed, Dariknews.bg quoted her as saying.

Most Of the Asparuhovo Flood Victims Lived in Illegal Houses

The houses on Gorna Studena street where most of the Asparuhovo flood victims died, are illegal, reports Sega daily. 

According to Oleg Kolev, chief expert in the Landslides and Ground Reinforcement department of the Varna municipality, by law the houses had to be at least 25 meters away from the concrete bed of the gully. They were built right next to it, instead. 

Large Bear Scares Family

A large bear scared a family travelling in their car in the Yundola area above the town of Velingrad in the Rhodopes, reports Darik radio. 

The husband said the bear jumped in front of the car shortly after midnight on Thursday when the family was driving back from a vacation in Greece. 

The bear also got scared and ran away in the woods, according to the reports. 

Another Child's Body Found in Bulgaria's Flooded Asparuhovo District

The body of another victim of the floods in Bulgaria's port city of Varna was found on Thursday.

The victim is a child and was found in the ruins of a house, BGNES reports. It is still unclear whether the child is the six-year-old Marin who has been missing since the extreme floods ravaged the Asparuhovo district last week.

Infectious Disease Outbreak Threatens Flood-Hit Varna's Asparuhovo

Bulgaria's port city of Varna Apauhovo district is at risk of an outbreak of hepatitis, dysentery and salmonellosis after last week's devastating floods.

So far there is only one person infected with salmonellosis, according to the Regional Health Inspectorate (RHI), Bulgaria's 24 chasa reports.
