Ten children stabbed outside school gate in southern China

Police in the southern Chinese city of Haikou said that a knife-wielding man has slashed 10 children outside a primary school before killing himself.

Media reports said that none of the children suffered life-threatening injuries, but that two were seriously hurt in the attack that took place on Feb. 29.

China stocks slump 7 pct on opening day of 2016, trading halted for first time

Chinese stock markets tumbled 7 percent in their opening session  of 2016 on Jan. 4 as weak factory activity surveys and falls in the yuan added to concerns about the struggling economy, forcing exchanges to suspend trade for the first time.

Early losses quickly snowballed in the afternoon, with trading suspended around 0530 GMT, about 90 minutes before the regular close. 

UK, U.S. Warn of 'Possible Threats' to Westerners in Beijing

The British and U.S. governments have issued a warning about possible threats against Westerners in Beijing on or around Christmas Day, the BBC reported on Thursday.

According to UK and U.S. officials,they have received information of possible threats in Sanlitun, which is a busy bar and shopping district in the Chinese capital city, the BBC said.

Spanish model Mireia Lalaguna was crowned Miss World 2015 after beating out 113 contestants from across the globe on Dec. 19 night at a coastal resort city in south China's Hainan Province.

The pharmacy student from Barcelona claimed the illustrious crown after winning over the contest's judges during the 65th edition of the world famous pageant in China's Sanya.
