Influx of migrants to islands up sixfold
The influx of undocumented immigrants into Greece from neighboring Turkey has increased dramatically, growing sixfold in the first five months of the year compared to the same period in 2014, according to new figures released by the coast guard on Monday.

Albania delays hydrocarbon bidding
Albania delayed by a month to mid-July the bidding for companies keen to explore for oil and gas on five onshore blocks and indefinitely for two offshore blocks, officials said on Monday.
A week before offers for the onshore bids were due on June 15, Energy Minister Damian Gjiknuri ordered the bidding date be postponed for another month to give companies more time.

Holocaust memorial unveiled in northern city of Kavala
Hundreds of people, including local and central government officials, diplomats, as well as representatives Jewish communities from around Greece attended a ceremony on Sunday in the northern port city of Kavala to unveil a Holocaust memorial.
Fire damages recycling plant near Aspropyrgos
A large fire broke out at a private recycling factory in the area of Nea Zoi, near Aspropyrgos, southeast Athens, on Saturday, resulting in extensive damage to the recycling unit, authorities said.
The factory had not been in operation over the last few months due to unpaid debts by its owner.

Chemical analysis: The suitable and unsuitable beaches of Attica
Checks on 151 beaches around Attica found that 55 of these were unfit to swim at. The Panhellenic Center of Ecological Research (PAKOE) analyzed the seawater from May 2 through to 25, taking three samples from every enclave. (Unsuitable beaches are in bold)

Police raid at terrorist hideout behind Athens Intercontinental (photos)
The counter-terrorist squad is investigating a flat near Syngrou Avenue, behind the Intercontinental Hotel, at Neos Kosmos, near the Athens Center. The third-floor flat is believed to have been used by two wanted robbers known as the “robbers in black”, Spyros Christodoulos and Grigoris Tsironis, whose accomplice had committed suicide at Nea Anhialou, Volos, Thessaly.

Rybolovlev’s security terrorize local fishermen
The latest visit of the Russian oligarch to his island of Skorpios has caused fear and terror amongst local fishermen and traders from Nydri island, as his guards systematically terrorize the citizens. According to the Workers’ Union of Lefkada-Vonitsa, Rybolovlev is trying to illegally close off access to the waterway between Skorpios and Skorpidi with extreme security measures.

Alt. Finance Minister Nadia Valavani issued a decision concerning the government’s plans for Hellenikon International Airport at the Agios Kosmas Seafront. Contrary to dreams for the 12-acred site to be turned into the biggest park in Europe, the airport will be used to serve the countries waste management needs.
