Arrests made in Thessaloniki rooftop pursuit following arson incident
Two suspects have been arrested in Thessaloniki in northern Greece after a thrilling pursuit of hooded individuals leaping from rooftop to rooftop. One of them was apprehended just before 7 a.m. while attempting to flee, while the second remained on a rooftop near a church for approximately 30 minutes.

Airbnbs mushroom in Sitia, Crete
The Municipality of Sitia, in the easternmost part of Crete, has seen its Airbnb listings grow recently, with a survey by Tourix showing that by end-March the area east of Agios Nikolaos and Ierapetra hosted 783 listed accommodation facilities, up 7.11% from March 2022, able to host up to 3,297 guests simultaneously.

Courts to halt operations around elections
Civil and criminal court hearings in Athens and Thessaloniki will be suspended from May 17 to 26 due to the general election on May 21, the Justice Ministry has announced.
However, criminal cases that begin before May 17 and that need to continue beyond that date will be heard.

Prosecutor orders investigation into Golden Dawn art gallery incident
A Thessaloniki prosecutor has ordered a preliminary investigation into an incident in the city where a group of masked youths stormed into a municipal gallery exhibiting the work of an artist from North Macedonia, harassed the artist and the staff and ordered them to pull down the works.
Egyptian national stands trial for rape in Thessaloniki
The trial has begun at a mixed jury court in Thessaloniki of 33-year-old man accused of raping and impregnating a 16-year-old refugee girl from Syria.
She gave birth in 2020 at Ippokratio hospital with forged documents provided by the suspect in order to conceal her age. Authorities began investigating the case in the Fall of 2020, three months after she gave birth.
Two-day Posidonia STF starts Tuesday
The Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum is opening its doors on Tuesday, taking place for the first time in Thessaloniki.
