Workman dies after falling off roof in Alexandroupoli
Police in Alexandroupoli were on Wednesday investigating the circumstances of the death of a 37-year-old laborer who had been repairing the tiled roof of a house in the city in northeastern Greece on Tuesday.
The worker, an Albanian national, was transferred to the city?s general hospital after falling off the roof but medics declared him dead on arrival.
Messini robbers caught trying to flee country
Two Albanian nationals were to face a prosecutor in Kalamata on Wednesday in connection with three burglaries in the region of Messini ? of two homes and a warehouse.
The suspects, aged 28 and 34, were caught after stealing 114 kilograms of olive oil from a warehouse in a Messini village.

'Rescued' Turkish passenger remains missing following ferry disaster
Italian authorities have been unable to find any trace of a Turkish passenger that went missing following the Norman Atlantic ferry disaster on Dec. 28, 2014, even though he called his family from a lifeboat ostensibly following his rescue.
Ferries tied up at Piraeus, Lavrio and Rafina due to strong winds
Gale-force winds and choppy seas prompted port authorities on Tuesday to issue a sailing ban at the three ports serving Athens, in Piraeus, Lavrio and Rafina.
Ferries will not be sailing to the islands of the Aegean on Tuesday and passengers must check with their ferry operators about ticket returns.

Strong winds cause disruption around Greece
A fresh deterioration in weather conditions on Monday caused problems across the country, with strong winds in northern Greece uprooting a number of trees in various parts of Thessaloniki and blowing road signs and scaffolding onto a section of the northern port city?s ring road, forcing its closure.
