A section of Nea Philadelphia Park in northeastern Athens is to be sacrificed so that AEK can build a new soccer ground, according to legislation tabled in Parliament on Friday.

The PhotoBiennale, the country's largest photography event, is back with the third and final chapter of its Time, Place, Logos trilogy.
Organized by the Museum of Photography in the northern port city of Thessaloniki, the group exhibition gets under way on May 9 and will run through the end of the summer.
Greek PSI victim takes own life
A 57-year-old man from Thessaloniki, in northern Greece, has been found dead after committing suicide by hanging himself, reports said Thursday.
The man was reportedly found dead by his wife at their holiday house in Halkidiki, east of Thessaloniki.

EU to allocate EUR billion for Western Balkans by 2020
THESSALONIKI - Ivica Dacic, Serbian first deputy prime minister and interior minister, stated on Thursday that the EU will allocate billion euros for the Western Balkan countries through the IPA funds by 2020, while another EUR 10 billion will be invested in regional projects.

Toddler killed after being crushed by door in northern Greece
A 3-year-old boy died in Serres, northeastern Greece, late on Sunday after being crushed by a sliding iron door.
The incident occurred in the courtyard of a restaurant in Palaiokomi in the municipality of Amphipolis, where the toddler had been having dinner with his family.

Piraeus Bank said to sell stake in Athens Water to Paulson
Piraeus Bank SA (TPEIR) sold its 9.9 percent stake in Athens Water Supply & Sewage Co SA (EYDAP) to Paulson & Co SA for 86.3 million euros ($120 million), according to a Piraeus Bank official who asked not to be identified in line with policy.
