Afghani citizens caught attempting to illegally cross border

Border patrolmen with the Husi Sector of the Border Police have detected in their area of operations eight Afghani citizens who were attempting to illegally cross into Romania. The policemen, aided by the thermal vision vehicle in their use, observed eight persons who were crossing the Pruth river into Romania by means of an inflatable boat.

INTERVIEW/South African Ambassador: South Africans can learn a lot from Romanians

The ambassador of South Africa in Bucharest, Thenjiwe Mtintso, states in an interview granted to AGERPRES that South Africans could learn from Romanians how to preserve their cultural heritage, while Romanians could learn from South Africans how to encourage the participation of women in political life.

EUROPAfest 2015 to kick off with double Opening Concert events, in Bucharest and Sibiu

This year's edition of the EUROPAfest will kick off, as a first, with two opening concerts to take place in the same evening in Bucharest, where Finnish band Turn On will perform, and in Sibiu, where Japanese piano player Momoka Masuda will take to the stage.

PM Ponta: This year we are initiating procedures for Sibiu-Pitesti, Targu Mures-Iasi and Comarnic-Brasov motorways

Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Monday evening told Digi TV private broadcaster that the government might initiate the necessary procedures this year so that construction works may finally kick off at the Sibiu-Pitesti, Targu Mures-Iasi and Comarnic-Brasov.

Attending military celebrations, Defence Minister assures Romanian Armed Forces ready to duly fulfil responsibilities

Minister of National Defence Mircea Dusa, attending on Saturday the military ceremony organised in Targu Mures to honor May 9, said that the Ministry insisted that the amplest celebrations in the country be organized in Targu Mures, just a few kilometers from Oarba de Mures, the site of fierce battles during WW II, which claimed the lives of more than 11,000 Romanian troops.
