Vucic: Public debt at 62.7 pct of GDP, we are making progress

NOVI SAD - President Aleksandar Vucic said Wednesday Serbia's public debt was at 62.7 pct of GDP, compared to 76.5 pct on the day he had become PM.

"Yesterday we repaid 770 mln dollars of debt and today our public debt is 62.7 pct of GDP," he said, adding that Serbia needed just a little more effort to reach the Maastricht level.

Vucic: Mladic judgement an expected one, no day for joy or grief

NOVI SAD - The ICTY judgement in the Ratko Mladic case is an expected one, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Wednesday, noting that, as head of state, he could not comment on a non-final judgement but that his message to Serbian citizens was that the nation must start looking to the future.

Vucic: Foreign direct investments at 1.6 bln euros in 2017

PANCEVO - Foreign direct investments in Serbia totalled 1.6 bln euros in 2017 - 8.3 pct more than last year, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Monday.

"And last year we had more investments than all countries and territories in the region put together," Vucic said at a ceremony marking the start of works on the Deep Processing project at the Pancevo oil refinery.

Gazprom owned NIS top contributor to Serbian state budget

President Aleksandar Vucic says the new investment of the oil company NIS in deep processing in Pancevo is "very significant for the whole of Serbia."

At the opening ceremony, Vucic thanked Russia's President Vladimir Putin in particular for the cooperation between the two countries "moving in an ever better direction."

Migrants smuggled in van with no windows or seats

Ab investigation has been launched in Zrenjanin against seven persons suspected of illegally smuggling migrants across Serbia's territory.

The higher public prosecutor in this northern town launched the probe against two local residents, whose initials are A.Z. and D.C., as well as B.R. and S.J. from Djala, S.J. and V.K. from Kikinda, and L.K. from Srpski Krstur.
