A Novi Sad man who died in Syria fighting as a volunteer will be laid to rest in Moscow, Vecernje Novosti is reporting on Wednesday.

The Belgrade daily named the man as 25-year-old Sasa Karan.

Jugoimport-SDPR, Stavatti Aerospace strike deal to produce new aircraft

BELGRADE - US-based Stavatti Aerospace and Serbia's Jugoimport-SDPR have struck a deal to develop and produce a new single-engine civilian airplane, the Serbian defence industry company has told Tanjug.

The aircraft will be manufactured at the UTVA AI plant in Pancevo - to be upgraded and expanded as part of the deal - and marketed commercially around the world, Jugoimport-SDPR said.

China Donates Military Equipment to Serbian Army

The Serbian Army on Tuesday received military equipment worth around 900,000 euros (1 million US dollars) donated by China.

A total of 16 rubber boats with outboard engines, five snowmobiles and 10 portable devices for detecting explosives and narcotics were donated to the Serbian army at the military barracks in Pancevo.

Chinese interested in manufacturing electric cars in Serbia

China's ambassador to Serbia Li Manchang announced on Tuesday that a Chinese company that wishes to open an electric car factory would soon arrive in Serbia.

Speaking in an army barracks in the town of Pancevo, where he presented a Chinese donation worth around EUR 900,000 to the Serbian Army, Li mentioned three large Chinese companies that will arrive here.
