US billionaire of Hungarian Jewish origin George Soros has responded for the first time to "Hungarian government's attacks," Reuters is reporting.

The article cites a statement issued by Soros' Open Society Foundations that said the campaign against him represented “distortions and lies designed to create a false external enemy."

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Monday in Belgrade received Alexander Soros, a member of Open Society Foundations' Global Board.

Tanjug is reporting that "Alex Soros is the oldest son of billionaire George Soros, with whom Vucic met in late September in New York."

In a statement today, George Soros reacted for the first time to the campaign of the Hungarian government against him, saying the attacks against him contained "lies and distortions" and aimed to create a false external enemy, Reuters reported.

US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings show the George Soros' investment fund has disposed of its holdings in Apple and Snap in the last quarter, reducing stakes in other tech giants such as Facebook and Twitter.

"Soros' foundation along with the US State Department, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), USAID and many others have for decades and will continue indefinitely undermining stability in Myanmar and across Southeast Asia to hinder China's rise and delay America's decline in the region for as long as possible," Anthony Cartalucci, a Bangkok-based geopolitical researcher and author, says.<

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that after decades of being under the control of “anti-Christian, internationalist powers” the country needs a government “based on the teachings of Christ” which “made Europe and the Hungarians great”.

George Soros’ Open Society said it was “proud to support” the Islamic Society of North America’s work, despite a federal judge ruling in 2009 that there is “ample evidence” of ties between ISNA and radical Islamic groups such as Hamas.
