July 2019 Is Officially the Hottest Month Ever Recorded
This year's July, marked by extreme heat in Europe, replaced July 2016 and is officially the hottest ever recorded month in the world. The European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Programme, which analyzes temperature data from around the planet, said that July was around 0.56 °C warmer than the global average temperature between 1981-2010, CNN reported.

The heat waves in Europe continue. Record temperatures - up to 39 degrees C are expected in the UK today.
The Netherlands has set an all-time temperature record, while temperatures across France, England, Belgium, and Germany are expected to peak on Thursday.

UN: Climate Change Will Push 120 million People Into Poverty by 2030
A new report published on Tuesday estimated that more than 120 million people could slip into poverty within the next decade because of climate change. As extreme weather events such as droughts, floods and hurricanes become more frequent, the world's poorest people will be forced to "choose between starvation and migration," the report warned.
