Document tracing 90 Golden Dawn attacks since 1996 submitted to court

A document tracing alleged attacks carried out by members and supporters of ultra nationalist Golden Dawn since 1996 was submitted to an Athens court on Tuesday.

Signed by the lawyers of an Egyptian fisherman assaulted by Golden Dawn members in Perama in 2012, among others, the memo provides information and witness accounts from 90 lawsuits filed against the party.

A year after GD members shot dead, police have no leads

A year after two members of neofascist Golden Dawn were shot dead outside the party’s offices in Neo Iraklio, north of Athens, police sources admitted that they have no leads to the killers.

“Although the perpetrators made mistakes, they were lucky as they did not leave adequate evidence to reveal their identities,” a police official told Kathimerini.

Arsonists torch reputed neo-Nazi hangout in Athens

A cafe in the Athens neighborhood of Ambelokipi was attacked by arsonists early on Friday.

Authorities said that a device containing three cooking gas canisters was placed outside the Bristol cafe.

Information contained in the case file built up by prosecutors investigating Golden Dawn suggested that the cafe was a popular hangout for party members and supporters.

Parliament votes to lift parliamentary immunity of GD MP

The Greek Parliament has voted to lift the parliamentary immunity of Golden Dawn MP Artemis Matthaiopoulos to face charges of robbery.

During a vote Wednesday, 198 of the 203 deputies present backed the decision. Four MPs voted against and one present.

Matthaiopoulos denied the charges which he said are politically-motivated.
