UK presses on with Brexit rules rewrite

Britain is ramping up a feud with the European Union by pressing on with a plan to rip up parts of the post-Brexit trade deal it signed with the bloc.

Legislation that rewrites trade rules for Northern Ireland was scheduled to get its first major House of Commons debate yesterday, the first step on what could be a rocky journey through parliament.

Four opposition parties sign agreement on post-election cooperation

Ljubljana – The heads of four centre-left opposition parties signed an agreement on post-election cooperation in Ljubljana on Tuesday. The deal will be a basis for further active cooperation, and for common programmes, which is to pave the way for the forming of an efficient and development-oriented government.

Slovenia welcomes EU-UK deal

Ljubljana – Slovenia has welcomed the deal on future relations between the EU and UK. The Foreign Ministry said it served as a basis for an “ambitious and comprehensive” agreement that would determine preferential treatment of the UK as a trading partner.

President Iohannis: For Romanians in UK nothing changes; it would be good if we reached agreement

AGERPRES special correspondent Florentina Peia reports: President Klaus Iohannis stated that the agreement regarding the exit of the United Kingdom from the community bloc announced on Thursday doesn't change anything in what regards the Romanians in the UK and said he is optimistic that this agreement will be approved in the European Council.
