MHP leader criticizes opposition lawmaker for insulting family of martyr

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chair Devlet Bahçeli has criticized İYİ (Good) Party lawmaker Lütfü Türkkan for swearing at a protestor in the eastern province of Bingöl.

"To swear at the sister of a martyr is indecent, dishonest, and the language of the enemy," Bahçeli said on Nov. 9 at his party's parliamentary group meeting, without naming Türkkan.

İYİ (Good) Party Group Deputy Chair Lütfü Türkkan on Nov. 6 resigned from his post at the party after he was accused of swearing at a protester in eastern province of Bingöl.

Video footage posted on social media showed Türkkan swearing at a relative of a person killed by the terror group PKK protesting İYİ Party leader Meral Akşener.

CHP leader says he wants Ankara, Istanbul mayors to continue duties

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on Nov. 6 said he wants the Ankara and Istanbul mayors of the party to continue their duties in the face of a presidential election.

"I want our mayors to continue their duties," Kılıçdaroğlu told Karar TV.

HDP must distance itself from PKK, says Akşener

The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) must distance itself from the terrorist PKK, Meral Akşener, the leader of the opposition İYİ (Good) Party, has said.

"We have been stressing this for months: We put the HDP next to the PKK," Akşener said during her party's parliamentary group meeting yesterday, suggesting the HDP has close ties to the terror organization.

Marking the fourth anniversary of the İYİ (Good) Party, chairwoman Meral Akşener has vowed to come to power in the next elections and make Turkey a much more beautiful country.
