Bulgaria Kicks Off 2024 with Approved State Budget Amid Economic Projections

Bulgaria ushers in the new year on a different note, as the State Budget Act for 2024 gets the green light, marking a departure from previous years of budgetary uncertainties. The freshly ratified budget signifies a significant milestone, offering stability as the nation steps into the year ahead.

Parliament to vote on 2024 state budget

In a culmination of a five-day debate on the 2024 state budget, the Greek Parliament concludes proceedings on Sunday with speeches from the Prime Minister and leaders of parliamentary groups. 

Following this, an electronic roll-call vote is slated for the budget, assuming the significance of a vote of confidence in the government.

Serbian parliament passes 2024 budget bill

BELGRADE - The Serbian parliament passed the 2024 budget bill on Thursday.

Under the bill, budget revenues will total 2,040.9 bln dinars and expenditures will amount to 2,238 bln dinars.

One hundred and forty-five of 189 MPs in attendance voted in favour of the bill and 31 voted against, there were no abstentions and 13 MPs did not take part in the vote.

Budget posts 49 billion liras surplus

The central government budget produced a surplus of 48.6 billion Turkish Liras ($1.8 billion) in July after posting a large deficit of 219.6 billion liras in June, the Treasury and Finance Ministry has said.

Revenues grew 156 percent last month from a year ago to 504.4 billion liras, with tax collection rising nearly 177 percent.

Revision of 2022 budget initiated

Ljubljana – The government has formally initiated a revision of this year’s national budget by triggering provision of the act on public finances that allows it to temporarily suspend the implementation of expenditures. This will be followed by the drafting of a supplementary budget.
