A meeting was held on Tuesday at the Council of Ministers in Sofia to discuss preparations for the forthcoming summer tourist season.

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy Valery Simeonov said that the government will support and promote legal tourism business in this country not only with operational means and measures, but also with proposals for legislation changes.

The Bulgarian government has adopted the regulations of the newly constitute Ministry for the Bulgarian Presidency of the European Union in 2018, reported BNR.

Its head Lilyana Pavlova has said that the number one priority of the presidency will be pursuance of policies for employment, growth, economic, an energy union and a digital union.

''We are determined to take all measures to stop rising mortality on the roads.'' The Interior Minister Valentin Radev said this after an extraordinary meeting in the Council of Ministers, FOCUS News Agency reported.

If Parliamentary elections were held today in Bulgaria GERB, The Bulgarian Socialist Party, the Unite Patriots and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms would enter the National Assembly, the results of the national survey of Barometer Bulgaria Agency show, quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio.

After having taken oath at parliament and on an official ceremony at the Council of Ministers caretaker PM Ognyan Gerdzikov handed over the position to the newly-elected Prеmier Boyko Borisov, wishing luck to him and his team, BNR reported.

Borisov thanked for the efforts put by the caretaker cabinet and pointed out that it had ''done quite a lot''.

At a special press conference caretaker Prime Minister Ognyan Gerdzhikov and Deputy Prime Ministers Denitsa Zlateva and Stefan Yanev have reported on the work done by the government during its term.

Caretaker Prime Minister Ognian Gerdzhikov has been summoned to parliament to explain the personnel changes in his cabinet, BNR reported.

The PM has said that not even a single dismissal has been made a the Council of Ministers and the replacement of the 22 district governors and 27 of their deputies is a normal practice carried out by other caretaker and interim governments.

Toma Tomov opened the first session of the 44th National Assembly, BNR reported.

The people's deputies were sworn in for the sake of the Republic of Bulgaria and committed to abide by the the Constitution of the country and its laws, and to be guided by the national interest in all their actions.
