Moscow dismisses Pentagon finding that Putin has Asperger's

A Pentagon think tank released a study in 2008 stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin has Asperger's syndrome, an autistic disorder that affects his decision. Brenda Connors, an expert in movement pattern analysis at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, wrote that Putin's "neurological development was significantly interrupted in infancy."

Hard to find such unproductive justice

I wrote earlier in the week: ?Our prosecutors completed each of the investigations they launched in 2013 in an average of 90 days. Out of every 100 investigation, they opened 49 civil law suits. Our criminal courts, after trying these 49 people for 210 to 260 days, convicted 20 of them. These 20 convictions were taken to the Supreme Court of Appeals.

Turkish Lira slides to new record low against dollar

The Turkish Lira tumbled to a new record low today, down to 2.426 against the dollar upon the expectation of a forthcoming rate cut by the Central Bank and the Fed's announcement of a positive trend in the U.S. economy.

Banking authorities also say the rise in the U.S. dollar has triggered the surprising rate cut by the Russian Central Bank today.

US threatens tougher action against Russia over Ukraine

US Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said on Jan. 28 that Washington was ready to increase sanctions on Russia over its actions in war-torn Ukraine.
 
Lew's comments during a visit to Kyiv came one day after EU heads of state threatened to impose further financial measures against Moscow in response to the latest upsurge in violence in Ukraine's nine-month war.
 

Russian FM: `They Played Around With Us For South Stream`

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced at his annual press conference on Wednesday that Moscow relies on the fact that the Turkish Stream project will be realized, which will allow for the strengthening of energy security in Europe.

Lavrov stated that the issue with South Streamis concluded, TASS news agency reports.

New Islamic State Video Claims to Show Young Boy Executing Two 'Russian Spies'

The Islamic State (IS) group on Tuesday released online a new video purportedly showing a boy executing two alleged Russian spies in Syria.

The video, which includes subtitles in Arabic and English, shows a boy and an IS fighter standing behind the two kneeling 'spies', after which the child executioner allegedly shoots both men in the back of their heads with a handgun.
