Top Turkish diplomat marks Europe Day
Turkey is open to sincere and meaningful cooperation with the EU for a common future, Turkey's foreign minister said on May 9 to commemorate Europe Day.
Europe Day, also known as the Schuman Day, is observed on May 9 each year to mark the Schuman Declaration in 1950 that proposed the formation of a European Coal and Steel Community, the predecessor to the EU.

New flights to US planned to bring Turkish nationals home
Turkish Airlines has scheduled special flights to New York, Chicago, Houston and Miami for Turkish citizens stranded in the U.S. because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The country's flag carrier will evacuate citizens back home from New York and Chicago on May 15, Houston on May 16 and Miami on May 17, according to a statement by the Turkish Embassy in Washington.
Some curbs for open marketplaces lifted
Some of the restrictions imposed on open marketplaces as part of the measures to take the spread of the coronavirus outbreak under control have been lifted, the Interior Ministry has announced in a circular sent to 81 provinces across the country.
