Turkey, Russia express hope for ceasefire in Idlib ahead of key meet

Turkey and Russia have expressed hope that a much-anticipated meeting of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Russian President Vladimir Putin would lead to a ceasefire in Idlib province of Syria where tension has enormously escalated in the last week after Syria killed 34 Turkish troops in an aerial attack on Feb. 28.

Erdoğan, Khan discuss Syria over phone

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke over the phone on March 3 and discussed the latest developments in northwestern Syria.

According to a statement by Turkey's Communications Directorate, the leaders discussed bilateral ties, developments in Syria's Idlib province and refugee issues.

Main opposition leader wants Erdoğan to ask Putin four questions

Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on March 3 addressed four questions to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, saying he should ask these to Russian President Vladimir Putin during their scheduled March 5 meeting.

Speaking during the parliamentary group meeting of the CHP, Kılıçdaroğlu asked Erdoğan to convey his questions to Putin.
