EBRD expects continued reforms, to back investment momentum

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) "expects Serbia to continue to be fully committed to carrying out the reforms it has started."

This is what the president of the financial institution, Suma Chakrabarti, said at a meeting with Serbian Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic in Washington.

Cameron: EU deal with Turkey to significantly reduce migrant flow

David Cameron welcomed the EU deal with Turkey saying that it could “significantly” reduce numbers of migrants crossing the eastern Mediterranean to enter Greece by boat.

Mr. Cameron said the arrangement was “a plan to break the link between getting on a boat and getting settlement in Europe…. a plan to bust the business model of the smugglers”, as Reuters reports.

EBRD plans 900-million-euro package for Turkey, Jordan

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Sir Suma Chakrabarti has announced plans for a financing package worth 900 million euros for Turkey and Jordan, two of the EBRD countries which have been most seriously affected by the exodus of Syrians escaping from the violence in their home country.

UK PM Cameron wants EU referendum in June 2016: The Times

Prime Minister David Cameron favours holding a referendum on Britain's European Union membership in June next year if leaders of other member states agree to the bulk of his reform plans at a December summit, The Times newspaper reported on Nov. 9.

Cameron has promised to renegotiate Britain's ties with the 28-nation bloc ahead of a membership vote by the end of 2017. 

Istanbul exceeds Europe in Syrian refugees, aid agency head says

There are currently more Syrian refugees in Istanbul than in all the rest of Europe and nearly 60 percent of refugees are living in cities today, the head of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) said on Oct. 26.

IRC head David Miliband told The Associated Press in an interview that "the iconic image" of a refugee being someone in a camp has changed.
