Restoration lags for Syria's war-battered historic sites
At the height of the Islamic State group's rampage across Syria, the world watched in horror as the militants blew up an iconic arch and temple in the country's famed Roman ruins in Palmyra.
Eight years later, restoration work on the site has been held up by security issues, leftover ISIL land mines and lack of funding.
12 PKK terrorists ‘neutralized’ in Syria’s north
A total of 12 PKK/YPG terrorists who attempted to attack the regions of the Olive Branch and Peace Spring operations have been neutralized, the Defense Ministry has said.
"The fight against terrorism of our heroic Turkish Armed Forces continues with determination, day and night," the ministry said in its social media post.

MİT brings senior PKK member to Türkiye
The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has brought Burhan Piçak, who was leading PKK/KCK's "assassination unit," to Türkiye in the operation carried out in northern Iraq.
Piçak, code-named Canşer/Laşer, was determined to cross into Syria from the southeastern province of Diyarbakır's Lice district in 2015 and join the PKK.

26 PKK/YPG terrorists neutralized: Ministry
A total of 26 PKK/YPG terrorists who were preparing to attack the Operation Peace Spring and Operation Euphrates Shield zones have been neutralized, the Defense Ministry has announced.
"Eighteen PKK/YPG terrorists have been neutralized by our Turkish Armed Forces in the Euphrates Shield zone," the ministry said in a social media post.

US, PKK hold joint military exercise in Syria
U.S. soldiers have taken part in a joint military exercise with PKK/YPG terrorists in the countryside in Syria's northeast.
Photos from the exercise conducted by the U.S.-led Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) against the ISIL were shared on the coalition's Twitter account, saying, "stronger together."

Dust clouds have covered the skies of southeastern provinces, while the visibility range has decreased due to the dust transportation from Syria.
Layers of dust coated vehicles and apartment balconies in the provinces of Şırnak, Bingöl, Mardin and Tunceli late on May 23.
Over 1,900 terrorists neutralized since beginning of 2021: Minister
Turkish security forces have neutralized 1,926 terrorists in domestic and cross-border operations in the north of Iraq and Syria since the beginning of 2021, the Turkish national defense minister said on Sept. 11.
Hulusi Akar, together with the military chief and commanders of troops stationed across the border, held a meeting at the Turkish-Syrian borderline.
Two Turkish soldiers killed, three injured in northwestern Syria
At least two Turkish soldiers were killed, three others injured in an attack in northwestern Syria, Turkey's National Defense Ministry said on Sept. 11.
The attack occurred after a search and scanning activity in the Idlib de-escalation zone, a statement by the ministry said.
