Some parties to serve without leaders in new term
Despite a substantial variety of political parties to serve, most of their leaders will be absent from the newly elected parliament.
The 28th term parliament, renewed by a 63-percent change in the deputies, will start its duty with a swearing-in ceremony in the following days.

Parliamentary results expected on May 30
The final results of the parliamentary elections held on May 14 will be announced on May 30 at the latest, according to Supreme Election Council (YSK) head Ahmet Yener.
"The appeal files that have reached the [Supreme Election] council will be discussed today, and depending on their fate, the parliamentary results will be known today or tomorrow," YSK head Ahmet Yener said on May 29.

Parliamentary swearing-in ceremony expected on June 1
Preparations for the 28th term of the Turkish assembly are in full swing, with the parliamentary swearing-in ceremony expected to take place on June 1, pending the final official results of the May 14 election.

The 600-seat parliament will have 16 political parties thanks to the political alliance system that was introduced by the executive presidential system in 2018.
Opposition leaders meet to discuss strategy for runoff polls
The six-party Nation Alliance has met to discuss the strategy they will follow for the second round of the presidential polls in which Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is running as their joint candidate.
121 female MPs elected in May 14 election
The number of women lawmakers in the parliament has increased from 103 to 121, showing a rise of only 3 percent compared to the previous period, as only one out of every five deputies in parliament is a woman.
In the newly elected 28th term of the 600-member parliament, 121 women will serve.

Parliament takes shape for 28th legislative term
The unofficial results of the parliamentary election on May 14 have revealed that the People's Alliance led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) garnered 321 lawmakers as the opposition Nation Alliance remained at 213.

Opposition candidate hopes polls to bring ‘spring’ to Türkiye
Opposition Nation Alliance's joint president candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has cast his vote with hopes that "spring will come" to Türkiye as a result of the landmark 2023 presidential and parliamentary polls.
Accompanied by Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Kılıçdaroğlu voted in a school in the Turkish capital Ankara with his wife, Selvi Kılıçdaroğlu.
