Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias plans to resume contacts in coming days with his counterparts in the region, while on Tuesday he announced the appointment of Tasia Athanasiou as special envoy for Syria.
Greece's President Katerina Sakellaropoulou praised Greeks for displaying" impressive maturity" in observing lockdown regulations during a meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis that was broadcast on television.
Mitsotakis, for his part, said his visit to Sakellaropoulou marked "the transition to the next phase of this great battle."
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is to visit President Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Monday at noon to brief her on the progress of efforts by the state to contain Covid-19 as well as the economic impact of the pandemic.
According to an announcement from Mitsotakis' office, the premier plams to update the president on the situation on a monthly basis.
