Greek president welcomes new archbishop of America
Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos on Tuesday welcomed the newly appointed Archbishop of America Elpidophoros at the Presidential Mansion in Athens and congratulated him on his election.
Pavlopoulos stressed the importance of the new archbishop's mission as a pillar of support to the world's biggest community of diaspora Greeks.

Archbishop, Patriarch bury the hatchet
Archbishop Ieronymos received Istanbul-based Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomaios on Wednesday in what has been described as a visit intended to the bury the hatchet between Athens and the Phanar.
Vartholomaios described the thaw in relations between the two leaders saying, "Blood cannot be turned into water."

President Prokopis Pavlopoulos on Tuesday welcomed the newly elected president of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), judge Linos-Alexandre Sicilianos, who became the first Greek to hold this position on April 1.
Article 3 of Greek Constitution not subject to revision by next Parliament
Article 3 of the Greek Constitution, regarding relations between church and state, will not be subject to revision by the next Parliament, following a vote by lawmakers earlier Thursday.
MPs were on Thursday voting on which articles of the Constitution will be revised by the House that will be sworn in after this year's elections.

Thessaloniki: Protesters against name deal target President Pavlopoulos
About 250 protesters, including some masked ones, have gathered outside Thessaloniki's Music Hall to protest against the deal which will rename Greece's northern neighbor "North Macedonia".
The protest is being staged on the occasion of the visit of Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos to attend a concert commemorating the Jewish Holocaust and give a keynote speech.
