Bad weather expected, EMY warns

Heavy rain, storms and strong winds were expected to hit various parts of Greece late Thursday, the country's National Meteorological Service (EMY), warned earlier in the day.

According to an emergency report filed by the service, bad weather was expected in the Ionian islands, Epirus, parts of Central Greece and the eastern Peloponnese and possibly Thessaly.

Fire service responds to hundreds of calls following heavy rain in Attica, western Greece

Firefighters in Attica, western Greece, the islands of the Ionian and the Peloponnese responded to over 300 calls from distressed citizens amid heavy rain and strong winds that lashed parts of the country late on Friday and in the early hours of Saturday.
