The G-7 summit continues in the French resort of Biarritz. Following the formal opening on Saturday night, the leaders of the seven most advanced industrialized nations are beginning the talks.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Friday pledged to build an "international, outward-looking Britain" after leaving the European Union after more than 40 years, which will continue to be an "energetic partner" to its international allies, AFP and The Guardian reported.

EU leaders rounded on U.S. President Donald Trump over his trade threats on Aug. 24 as they arrived in the chic French seaside resort of Biarritz for a G7 summit overshadowed by trans-Atlantic tensions and worries about the global economy.

The fires in the Amazon represent an "international crisis" and should be among the key topics that G7 leaders will address during their meeting, which begins tomorrow.

This was tweeted by French President Emmanuel Macron, who is hosting the forum, which will be held in the French city of Biarritz.

Volodymyr Zelensky has suggested Russia to return Crimea to Ukraine in order to regain its place in the G-8 group of the most influential countries in the world, RIA Novosti reports.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker won't attend the G7 summit in France for health reasons, an EC spokeswoman said today, quoted by Reuters and BTA.

Commission spokesperson said Juncker had a successful and an urgent cholecystectomy over the weekend and doctors advised him not to take a trip.

The UK and US are discussing a partial trade agreement, which could enter into force on November 1st, a day after the UK is supposed to leave the European Union. This was reported by a senior US administration official, quoted by BTA.

In the same time, he accused French President Emmanuel Macron of sending "mixed signals" to Tehran over possible talks.
"I know Emmanuel means well, as do all others, but nobody speaks for the United States but the United States itself," Trump said in a series of tweets.

"Ministers agreed that it is urgent to address the tax challenges raised by the digitalisation of the economy and the shortcomings of the current transfer pricing system," said a French summary of the meeting's conclusions, Financial Times reported.

"We call on Kosovo and Serbia to engage constructively and normalize their relations completely through a comprehensive and legally binding agreement, so that they can advance on their European path," said a joint communique at the end of the G7 summit held on Friday and Saturday in France
