The new strategy will treat firearms violence as a public health crisis.

Three people have been injured in a shooting that took place in Berlin during the early morning hours, Bild reported on Monday.

The attack occurred in the city's Wedding district, the newspaper explained, adding that the victims of the shooting have been transported to a hospital.

Eight people have been killed and many injured in a shooting in the US city of Indianapolis, police say.

Witnesses heard several gunshots at a FedEx facility and one said he saw a man firing an automatic weapon.

The gunman, said to have been acting alone, is reported to have killed himself. Authorities said there was no further threat to public safety.

According to the police, the suspect shot the victim following an altercation in the municipality of Festos.

The shooter's sister, who organized the mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, was among the victims, a spokesman for local police said during a news conference.

"The second victim is Megan Betts, a white woman, 22 years old," said a police spokeswoman, reading the list of victims.

At least three people were killed during Sunday shooting at one of California's Biggest Food Festivals, AFP reported. More than 15 people were injured.

Earlier the media reported about one dead and many injured. Shows broadcast on the NBC TV channel showed running people at the first shots at the country's biggest festival.

A 64-year-old man from the village of Trapoklovo, Sliven, shot at his wife and neighbor and then committed suicide, bTV announced. The incident happened before noon.

The victims were taken to a hospital. Both are in critical condition.
