Candida auris accounted for 4.4% of hospital infections in 2022
A fungal superbug called Candida auris accounted for just 4.4% of all hospital infections in Greece last year, the head of the National Public Health Organization (EODY), Theoklis Zaoutis, said Saturday.

'Officers' Beach In Bulgaria's Varna Closed Again
The 'Officers' beach in Bulgaria's Varna has been closed for visitors again as of Friday, the Regional Health Inspectorate informed.
The beach was closed after the test results showed that the sea water was contaminated with Escherichia Coli and Enterococcus bacteria, Darik news reports.
The water contamination poses risk of enteric infections and secretory system ailments.

Second mineral water brand banned over E coli concerns
The Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) ordered Wednesday the withdrawal from the market of all water cooler bottles sold under the brand name Aquarius after they were discovered to contain bacteria that included E coli.
The 18.9-liter containers are manufactured in Serres.
Mineral water found to contain E coli banned
Greeces food safety watchdog, EFET, on Wednesday ordered a brand of bottled water to be removed from stores after it was found to be contaminated with bacteria including E coli.
The mineral water is sold under the brand name Seli in 18.9-liter bottles.

'Officers'' Beach in Varna To Remain Closed At Least Till Monday
The “Officers'” beach in Varna will remain closed at least until Monday, reports Darik Radio.
“This is when the test results of the sea water will come out,” said Dr. Veselina Bozhilova of the Regional Health Inspectorate in Varna.
