Women's artistic gymnastics may be one of the few Olympic events to feature music and choreography, but it doesn't mean the sport takes them truly seriously. In 2016, in the middle of the Rio Games, the specialist publication Dance Magazine declared that today's floor routines "insult dance."

Romanian gymnast Maria Sorina Ceplinschi won the beam and floor finals, held on Sunday at the World Challenge Cup in Mersin (Turkey), while Gabriel Burtanete placed third in the vault event. In the balance beam event, Ceplinschi won with 12,750, followed by Croatian Ana Derek (12,600) and Hungarian Csenge Maria Bacskay (12,100).
