Ana Barbosu wins four gold medals at 2020 European Championships in WAG Juniors apparatus events

Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu won the gold medals in all four final events on apparatuses - vault, uneven bars, beam and floor, at the 2020 European Championships in Women's Artistic Gymnastics, Juniors' competition, in Mersin, Turkey.

Turkish gymnastics team ranks 2nd in Euro championships

The Turkish team in Men's Artistic Gymnastics of European Championships won silver medal on Dec. 12.

Ukraine notched 248.963 points to win the gold at the Olympic Gymnastics Hall in Turkey's Mediterranean port city of Mersin.

Silver went to Turkey with 244.793 points, while Hungary ranked third with 240.393.

Champion rhythmic gymnastics team visits sports minister

Turkish Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu welcomed the nation's first-ever gold medal-winning women's national rhythmic gymnastics team at his office on Dec. 1 in the capital Ankara. 

"It's a great pleasure for us to host you here," said Kasapoğlu. "You're in our ministry as champions."

Four-Time World Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion Tried to Commit Suicide

Russian 4-time world rhythmic gymnastics champion Alexandra Soldatova has been admitted to hospital after a suicide attempt. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

The hospital explained to the media that the condition of the athlete is improving, but visitors are not allowed.

Doctors report self-inflicted injuries. The athlete is known to have been diagnosed with bulimia.

Gymnast Marian Dragulescu, 50th Romanian athlete qualified for 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo

Marian Dragulescu has become the 50th Romanian athlete qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, after earning the ticket for the vault event final, on Monday, at the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart. Dragulescu, who will turn 39 on 18 December, reached the final with the sixth score in qualifications, 14.624, after vaults of 14.616, respectively 14.633.

Nadia Comaneci encourages children in District 5 of the Capital to practice sport
