Two Bulgarian Officers Arrested for Bribery at Gyueshevo Border Crossing

In a recent operation organized by The Directorate-General for Border Police, a significant development unfolded late on March 23 at the Gyueshevo border crossing. Two border policemen, aged 38 and 49, found themselves in custody following their apprehension by the Internal Security Directorate and Special Tactical Actions sector of the RDGP-Kyustendil.

Turkey Reopens Traffic to Foreign Citizens, Greece - 7-Day Quarantine until June 15

Turkey has reopened traffic  to foreign citizens travelling in cars, vans and buses. Outbound freight traffic from Bulgaria at Lesovo border checkpoint is heavy, and normal at Kapitan Andreevo.

As of 15 June, 2020, at the border with Greece, citizens of EU countries are subject to a 7-day quarantine upon entry into the country at an address indicated by them. 

Skopje to Pull Out 200 People from Bulgaria

Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov has announced that the necessary organization has been set up to welcome some 200 Macedonian citizens at the Bulgarian border checkpoint Gyueshevo.

"They will be welcomed in the best possible way, both for their safety and for the health of the whole nation," Dimitrov told local television 24 Vesti.

Bulgarian Customs Seize 2 Kg Heroin at Border with Macedonia

Bulgarian customs officers have thwarted an attempt of a Serbian citizen to smuggle two kilogrammes of heroin through Gyueshevo checkpoint on the border with Macedonia.

The Serbian citizen was travelling in a Turkish-registered bus from Turkey to Kosovo via Bulgaria and Macedonia, the National Customs Agency said in a statement.
