As temperatures climb, pilgrims ascend Mount Arafat for hajj climax
Hundreds of thousands of Muslim pilgrims crowded Saudi Arabia's Mount Arafat on Tuesday, the climax of a potentially record-breaking hajj pilgrimage held in fierce summer heat.
As dawn broke, groups of worshippers recited Koran verses on the rocky rise, where the Prophet Mohammed is believed to have given his final sermon.
20 Dead in Bus Crash with Pilgrims in Saudi Arabia
At least 20 people died yesterday in Saudi Arabia in a bus accident, DPA reported.
The bus, which overturned and caught fire, was carrying passengers to the holy city of Mecca, including pilgrims on their way to perform Umrah, a minor Muslim pilgrimage.

Over 5,000 injured while sacrificing animals
There were 5,102 people hospitalized for injuries while sacrificing animals on the first day of the Eid al-Adha across the country, Demirören News Agency has reported.
"The emergency rooms of hospitals were filled by inexperienced butchers," the agency said on July 10.
