The Turkish Lira hit a record low against the dollar and stocks tumbled more than 3 percent to a three month low following the overnight detention of 12 lawmakers and leaders of the Kurdish issue-focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP).

Eleven lawmakers from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) have been detained for failing to appear in response to summons by prosecutors asking for testimony in a terrorism propaganda case, a government office said in a written statement early Nov 4. 

The co-chairs of Turkey's Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ, as well as HDP lawmakers Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Gülser Yıldırım, have been sent to a courthouse in the southeastern province on Diyarbakir, with demands for their arrest following their detention. 

A total of nine bomb-laden vehicles belonging to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) have been destroyed over the past week during operations conducted in the country's east and southeast, the Turkish General Staff has said in a statement.

The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) has intensified its military deployment close to the Iraqi border in an ostensible move to both support ongoing operations against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and increase border security, Doğan News Agency has reported.

Turkey was again in mourning for the victims of attacks by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) on Oct. 10, as the funerals of the fallen soldiers and civilians took place in provinces across the country.

Police in the Aegean province of İzmir are searching for two suspected bombers of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) who allegedly arrived in Turkey's third largest city to stage a bomb attack and fled during a police operation.

Three militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party were "neutralized" in an operation in southeastern Hakkari province's Çukurca district Sept. 30, the military said in a statement on Oct. 1.

The military uses the term "neutralized" for killed, injured or caught militants.

The Turkish General Staff said in the statement that the militants were preparing an attack.
