Bodrum Castle, the symbol of the popular touristic town of Bodrum in Turkey's western province of Muğla, is one of the 10 new places proposed to the World Heritage Tentative list, aiming to enter UNESCO's World Heritage list.

The district headquarters of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) in the Bodrum district of the western province of Muğla has hung a banner condemning the recent assault on a woman on a public bus in Istanbul for wearing shorts, saying "only a baby in her womb has the right to kick a woman."

Turkish security forces have rescued 55 migrants and refugees caught in a storm in the Aegean Sea off the southwestern province of Mu?la, the state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.      

Police said they rescued the group as they were attempting to reach the Greek island of Kos from Mu?la's Bodrum district on the night of Feb. 15.        

The Greek coast guard detained two Turkish captains on suspicion of facilitating the smuggling of 14 Syrian refugees to the Greek island of Kalymnos, a local news website from the island has reported. 

Eighteen people drowned as the boat carrying them sank in the Aegean Sea off the Turkey's southwestern coast late on Friday.

The wooden vessel, which was packed with refugees, including citizens of Syria and Iraq, was attempting to reach the Greek island of Kos when it sank in Bodrum bay.

Just a few days following the provocative flight of six Turkish military jets over four Greek islands, Turkey is violating Greek territorial waters yet again. The Turkish hydrographic plane is on a mission between the islands of Lesbos and Chios accompanied by the Turkish corvette ship, Bodrum.

Six migrant children have died after two separate mishaps involving Greece-bound inflatable boats off Turkey's Aegean coast, amid migrants' ongoing attempts to cross to Greece's islands by sea.

Some 82 migrants in four inflatable boats, in attempt to illegally reach the Greek island of Kos, have been captured by Coast Guard teams on Nov. 8.

The weather conditions and current, along with the high number of boat passengers, have raised risks during the journeys. Despite the risks, some boats and their passengers have survived the journey.

Some 200 migrants of Syrian origin, who had been attempting to reach the European Union, have been saved from within a truck that was abandoned by its driver in a parking lot in Turkey?s Aegean province of ?zmir. 

The 2nd International Bodrum Biennial continues in the western province of Mu?la?s Bodrum resort around the theme of ?Tolerance,? although the works by U.S. painter Deborah Semel Demirta? were not shown much tolerance, in the artist?s words.
