105 tons of paper recycled through Zero Waste Project in parliament
Within the scope of the Zero Waste Project aiming at reducing Türkiye's waste burden, 105 tons of paper and cardboard were recycled in the parliament in 2023, officals have informed.
The project, which is carried out under the auspices of first lady Emine Erdoğan has been meticulously implemented by the parliament since 2018.
Illegal chemical waste dump sparks probe
Chemical waste dumped on the side of a road has contaminated the Sazlıbosna Dam, one of Istanbul's important water resources.
Teams from the Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Ministry took samples from the waste, which emitted smoke and odor into the premises.

Night Checks in Sofia for the Incineration of Hazardous Waste did not Detect Offenders
Last night, the Metropolitan Municipality and the police undertook inspections of unregulated incineration of hazardous waste that polluted the air, reports Mediapool.
The inspection was in the Fakulteta neighborhood and in the former Vietnamese hostels. Secondary raw materials, car dealerships and construction sites were also checked, Sofia Municipality reported.
Radioactive waste turned away from Athens landfill
Authorities raised the alarm after radioactive waste was detected on a truck near Athens, the Environment Ministry said on Monday.
The ministry said it was informed on Sunday that a container transporting waste from the VIOPA industrial park in Keratea, eastern Attica, to the landfill at Fyli, west of Athens, was emitting radioactive iodine, picked up by sensors at the landfill.
