Number of flu deaths in Greece this winter surpasses 100
The number of flu-related deaths in Greece exceeded 100 on Wednesday, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO), which has been monitoring the spike in the number of cases of the virulent H1N1 strain this year.
EOPYY staff called back to work before polyclinics reopen
More than 8,000 doctors and nurses who are employed by the National Organization for Healthcare Provision (EOPYY) but have been in a labor mobility scheme for the past month have been asked to visit the EOPYY polyclinics on Thursday ahead of the scheduled launch next week of the Primary National Healthcare Network (PEDY) which is to replace EOPYY.
Two persons injured in hand grenade blast in BiH
JAJCE - Two persons were injured when a hand grenade exploded in the village of Vlasinje near Jajce while they were farming the land, the Central Bosnian Canton police have released in a statement.
After receiving the medical treatment at the Health Center, the injured have been discharged and will be receiving home health care.

Greek doctors, nurses to strike for second day on Wednesday
Doctors and nurses at Greek state hospitals are to walk off the job for the second day in a row on Wednesday in protest at government plans to put thousands of civil servants in a so-called mobility scheme of forced transfers and layoffs.
State hospitals will operate on skeleton staffs.
Greek prosecutor charges 6 with fraud over IKA scam
An Athens prosecutor on Tuesday brought fraud charges against a doctor working for the Social Security Foundation (IKA), four pharmacists and the representative of an unnamed pharmaceutical firm who are alleged to have caused IKA to suffer losses of more than 100,000 by forging prescriptions for expensive medicines.

Doctors react to extension of contracts with EOPYY
The National Organization for Healthcare Provision (EOPYY), which covers some 9.5 million people and is currently undergoing a radical overhaul, is to extend existing contracts with private doctors for three months, the Health Ministry said on Monday.
