Two Greek scientists from the Technical University of Crete will participate in a research mission to Antarctica for the first time, state broadcaster ERT reports.

Their mission involves conducting two experiments to study the effects of isolation and extreme weather conditions on the physical and mental health of individuals participating in such expeditions. 

"We strive to keep the spark of Hellenism alive in the United States, in this great melting pot, in an environment that does not favor the preservation of the Greek cultural identity.

On Wednesday evening, the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) welcomed 18 enthusiastic participants from their inaugural Youth Camp to The Greek Center for a final briefing. The camp, which will run from 23 September to 01 October, is an initiative of the GCM and the Prefecture of Attiki.
