Rescue teams on Thursday reportedly found the sole inhabitant of the remote island of Kinaros in the southeastern Aegean who had been reported missing by concerned relatives after they had been unable to reach her on the phone for three days.

Turkish violations surge in 2019

Aviation buffs converge on Tanagra for air show
Flying enthusiasts watch Hellenic Air Force helicopters participate in the Tanagra International Air Show, part of Athens Flying Week, at the Tanagra Air Base on Saturday. The air show, which took place for the eighth year in a row, drew some 60,000 visitors from across Greece and 4,000 from abroad.

Turkish fighter jets violated Greek air space over the Aegean on Monday, according to Greek military authorities.
Turkish fighter jets enter Athens FIR in the Aegean
Four Turkish F-16 and two F-4 fighter jets flying in three formations entered the Athens Flight Informational Region (FIR) on several occasions in the northeastern and southeastern Aegean on Monday.
They were chased off by Greek air force pilots in line with international rules of engagement. Two of the six fighter jets were armed.

Hundreds of aircraft take-offs in and dozens of battle simulations were included in the 12-day Iniohos multinational exercise, which ended at the Andravida base in the Peloponnese on Friday.

Fighter jets to do practice run Monday ahead of March 25 parade
Hellenic Air Force fighter jets and helicopters are to fly over the capital at 11.45 on Monday as a practice run ahead of the traditional military parade on March 25 national holiday.
The annual parade marks the anniversary of Greek independence from Ottoman rule.
The practice run is expected to last just a few minutes.
