Olympiakos and Atromitos face relegation for match fixing

Olympiakos and Atromitos are threatened with relegation, while their owner Evangelos Marinakis and Giorgos Spanos, Portuguese coach Ricardo Sa Pinto and a dozen others are threatened with very serious sanctions, all for corruption and match fixing in Greek soccer, according to a report on Athens radio station Sport FM.

Marinakis just dealt the final blow to the so-called ‘clean-up’ of Greek Football in front of UEFA/FIFA

FIFA monitoring committee recommends soccer Grexit

The head of FIFA's committee monitoring Greek soccer is formally proposing to the international federation the suspension of the local game from the international set-up, practically giving the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) a period of a few weeks to enforce the measures FIFA has recommended, or else face the so-called soccer Grexit.

Gagatsis denies corruption charges

The indicted general director of soccer's Super League and former president of the Greek Football Federation (EPO) Vassilis Gagatsis has denied that he mishandled 1 million Swiss francs given to EPO in 2008 by European soccer's governing body, UEFA, to help finance the rebuilding of soccer facilities damaged by devastating fires in the Peloponnese.
