Parliament to debate renewing bid for German war reparations
Greek Parliament will revisit on Wednesday the issue of the country's claim for German war reparations, with party leaders and MPs expected to debate the content of a House committee's report on the subject ahead of a vote to revive the demands.
Bill secures right of MPs to take part in Euro elections
The right of a Greek lawmaker to take part in European Parliament elections is enshrined in an amended multi-bill drafted by the Interior Ministry that will be submitted Tuesday and voted on in a parliamentary plenary session.
According to the amended multi-bill, lawmakers can run as candidates in European Parliament elections without having to give up their status as an MP at home.
Parliament approves revision of Constitution on church-state ties
Parliament today held the first vote on which constitutional amendments will be voted on in the Parliament that emerges from the next general election.
In that context, Parliament approved by a one-vote majority the government's proposal to amend Article 3 so as to explicitly establish the religious neutrality of the state.

Parliament's Scientific Council rejects ANEL request to bend rules
The Greek Parliament's Scientific Council on Thursday rejected a request by Independent Greeks (ANEL)'s chief Panos Kammenos to amend a regulation stipulating that the MPs in any parliamentary group (minimum of five) must have all been voted into Parliament with the same party.
Constitutional Review Committee completes work
The Greek Parliament's Constitutional Revision Committee, the body responsible for examining the government's proposed amendments to the Constitution, completed its work on Wednesday night, voting on the entirety of the proposals submitted by Greece's political parties and lawmakers.
The result of the vote, which is not binding for lawmakers, will now be discussed at the plenary.

EU's Katainen to attend parliamentary committee meeting on Jan. 29
European Commission Vice President Jyrki Katainen will visit Athens on January 29 to participate in a joint meeting of the Greek Parliament's committees on european affairs, production and trade and economics.
Katainen, who is Commissioner for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, will speak at a session titled "The future of Europe: Challenges and opportunities."
Parliamentary committee approves Prespes deal
The Greek Parliament's defense and foreign affairs committee approved by majority on Tuesday afternoon the name deal signed between Athens and Skopje.
The discussion and analysis of the draft law ratifying the Prespes accord began on Monday afternoon.
