Sofia. By the end of the year, we will start repairing three more facilities on the Hemus and Trakia motorways, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov said at a briefing after a meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov, Focus News Agency reports.
This year's summer season in Bulgaria begins with traffic congestion and blockades on the roads. The toughest situation will be traditionally on the Hemus highway, which will have restrictions all summer. By the middle of June, a repair will take place some 20 kilometers from the Trakia highway after Plovdiv.
Bulgaria's "Struma" and "Hemus" highways will be completed in four years, said Regional Development Minister Lilyana Pavlova in an interview for the 24 Chasa daily.
„There is money from the Transport and Infrastructure Programme only for Lot 3 of Struma highway - the Kresna gorge and the tunnels," Pavlova said.
