Hemus motorway

Nearly BGN 7 billion will be invested in roads in northern Bulgaria in the coming years, the Head of the Road Infrastructure Agency, Georgi Terziyski, said on 14th of March in Rousse, reports BNT. 

The State Motor Company will build 134 km of the Hemus highway. At the end of last year, a contract was signed between the company and the Road Infrastructure Agency for the construction of the section from the Boaza junction to the intersection with the Rousse-Veliko Tarnovo road.

From 10:30 to 13:30 today, the traffic in the "Topli Dol" tunnel of the Hemus Motorway in the direction of Varna will be limited due to a check of the lighting system. Traffic will take place in the Sofia pipeline in two ways, announced the Road Infrastructure Agency.

A kilometre-long traffic jam has formed near the 44 km mark of Hemus Motorway in the direction of the capital, Focus News Agency reports. The vehicles move in columns starting from the motorway entrance at Botevgrad. The reason for the congestion is the heavy traffic and the repair works in the area of the tunnels.

BGN 1,349,856,000 will be allocated for the construction of the Hemus motorway, said Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Petya Avramova at the weekly government meeting, quoted by Focus News Agency.

From 9:30 am to 4:00 pm the traffic in the "Topli dol" tunnel of ''Hemus'' Motorway in the tube to Varna will be limited.

Due to a tunnel technical survey, the flow of cars will be redirected to the Sofia tube, where the traffic will be two-way, reported the Bulgarian National Television. 

Sofia. The government has allocated an additional BGN 35.3 million for the construction of the 9.3-km section of Hemus motorway between Yablanitsa and Boaza. The money will cover payments for completed construction works and consultancy services.

Shumen. At a ceremony, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov launched the construction of the new section of the Hemus motorway between Shumen and Targovishte, Focus Radio has reported. The new stretch will be built within a year and two to three months, Borissov said.

Sofia. In the coming years, North Bulgaria will be a priority, it is our focus during this term of office, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov said in an interview with bTV .

On May 1, the rehabilitation of the entrance of Burgas from the Trakia highway begins, announced Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov, quoted by the press center of the department headed by him. The stretch is about 8 km in length and is very bad condition. On May 1, the Minister will be on inspection of sites in Burgas.
